Disney Cars Party Ideas

Party Supplies

Lightning McQueen is the fastest way into your child's heart when you throw a high speed Cars Party.  These Cars Party Ideas will make all your guests feel like they've taken their own ride down Route 66 and are spending the day in Radiator Springs.

Invitations

Invitations set the tone of your party long before your first guest walks through the door. Taking some extra time to make your invitations unique will get people excited to see what you do the day of the party.

If you are more handy you can try one of the following invitation ideas:

  • Road sign invitations are great fun to make.  Print a traffic signal on cardstock. Cut 3 pieces of white card stock and 1 piece of red, yellow, and green card stock for each invitation in a circle that will act as the colors of the stop light.  Put the information for your party on the white card stock and glue down to the traffic signal.  Then attach each of the colored circles on top of white so that they will flip up like a book.
  • Design your invitations to look like license plates and use your childs name as the license plate number.  For extra points design the license plate to look like your states license plate.  Then you can put all of the party details on the back or make it a top fold card.
  • If you want to let the little one help make the invitations you can cut a vehicle out of card stock.  Let them color in one side to make it look like a car or truck and then put the details on the back of the invitation.

If you would rather buy the Disney's Cars invitations ready made, you can purchase the following types of invitations: Cars Invitation type 1Disney's World Of Cars, Race cars, Cars Personalized Invitations.

Decorations

Pinata

You've set the theme with the invitations now it's time to make your house really shout that this is a Disney's Cars party! Using things you already have around the house you'll be able to kick your party into the next gear and make it memorable for years to come.  Remember to pay attention to what your guests experience from the time they drive up in their car to the time they walk into the party area.

Here are some ideas to finish first with you car's birthday party:

  • Toy cars and trucks around the party area is an easy way to start.  If you have a big toy dumptruck consider putting the gifts in there or at least have the dumper up so it looks like the toys are flowing out of the back.
  • Hanging a personalized Cars banner out front is also a great way to greet your guests as they pull up. There is a wide assortment of banners to choose from: Disney's cars personalized birthday banner, race car banner, or a Disney's cars happy birthday banner.
  • Adding removable wall decals does an amazing job at setting the scene.  You can find them at birthdayexpress by searching for: car wall
  • Road signs throughout the party area will be a big hit also.  You can either make them yourself or do it as an activity with the kids out of construction paper.  For those that want to go authentic you can try contacting your city works and asking if you can borrow some road signs.
  • To complete your decorations you will want to get the Disney's Cars Party Theme so all your plates, napkins, cups, etc. will match your theme.
  • Hanging pinata's filled with candy, cars, and trophy's is another great addition.  Cars - The Movie Pinata

Food

Apples and chocolate pudding dip

The gang from Disney's Cars is always up for a good meal.  Turn your version of Radiator into a 5 star restaurant that Lightning McQueen would love to eat at.

Oil Slick Dip - Lay out sliced apples and have containers of chocolate JELL-O pudding snacks available.  The kids will love dipping this healthy snack.

Car Snacks - Use car and truck shaped cookie cutters to cut out cookies, sandwiches, and cheese slices.

Stop Light Cookie - Use white frosting to cover a graham cracker.  Then add yellow/red/green frosting to make it into a stop light or you can use gummy candies to make the lights.

Winners Champagne - Serve chilled sparkling apple juice

Party Favors

Handing out party favors at the end of the party will make everyone feel like they won the piston cup.  You can either give one larger party favor like a model car or you can put together a collection of small items to give the party favor a personal touch.  We have put together a large collection of Car's Favors for your to browse or you can buy a themed party favor box already put together.  Favor box option 2

Games & Activites

The Piston Cup - For this activity you'll want a number of cardboard boxes.  1 for each team.  Markers, Construction paper, and glue sticks.  Cut the cardboard boxes so that a child can easily get into it and carry the box around them.

You will seperate kids into teams.  Each team will have a set amount of time to design and decorate their "car".  Once they have their cars decorated you can lay out the course.  When you say go, each team will start one of their team members to do a lap of the course while carrying their car.  And the conclusion of the lap they will have to stop and switch drivers.  Once all drivers have completed a lap, the first across the finish line is the winner of the piston cup.

The Piston Cup 2 - For this activity you'll want a wind up cars for each child. On a table create a starting line and finish line.  Put the name of each child on their car and they can start doing mini drag races.

Red Light Green Light - This childhood tradition is perfect for this party theme.
